Explore Hidden Tokyo by Bike
A One-of-a-Kind Cycling Tour from Shibuya with a Local Guide Who Calls It Home

Hello, I’m Taichi — your local cycling guide.
Over the years, I’ve guided long-distance tours across Japan, ranging from 10 to 14 days. Throughout that experience, I noticed a common trend: many guides offer tours without deep knowledge of the area, sharing only general or surface-level information.
I believe that most people who join a cycling tour are looking to experience the "now" of a place — its local atmosphere, energy, and everyday life. In a city like Shibuya, which is constantly evolving, there’s so much you simply can’t understand unless you live here. Just being based in Tokyo isn’t enough — you have to be immersed in Shibuya itself to truly know it.
That’s why I started TOKYO CITY CORE RIDE, a tour that showcases the real Shibuya from a resident’s perspective.
This experience has been especially popular among travelers from Europe. In fact, last year alone, more than 300 guests joined from a well-known airline's cabin crew community.
If you’re looking for an authentic bike tour around Shibuya — one that goes beyond the typical tourist path — I’d love to ride with you and show you the city I call home.
Looking forward to exploring Tokyo with you!

Don't settle for a typical tour — you're in Shibuya!
Join a small-group bike tour by COG EXPLORER and experience a side of Tokyo that goes beyond sightseeing.
What we value most is simple: your guide should truly live in the city you're exploring.
There are countless tour guides in Tokyo—but how many of them actually call this city home? And if they don't live here, where does their knowledge really come from?
Can secondhand information from guidebooks or the internet truly satisfy your curiosity?
At COG EXPLORER, your guide is a real local who lives in the heart of Shibuya. This means you'll hear authentic stories and explore places that only a true resident can show you.
Ride a comfortable city bike through quiet backstreets, cultural pockets, and Tokyo’s most iconic spots. Feel the city with all your senses as you roll through it—not just observe it from a distance.
This tour takes you far from the tourist crowds and deep into Tokyo’s vibrant neighborhoods—hidden alleys, leafy parks, and trend-setting districts like Harajuku and Aoyama. These are places that are hard to reach by train and rarely mentioned in guidebooks, but offer a glimpse into real, everyday Tokyo.
The name “COG” carries a double meaning: it’s both a bicycle gear and a nod to the Japanese word kogu, meaning “to pedal.”
It reflects our mission—to celebrate the joy of human-powered travel and connect with the city at street level.
With each pedal stroke, a side of Tokyo appears that no bus or guidebook can reveal.
Whether it’s your first time in Tokyo or your fifth, this cycling tour offers real local experiences, living stories, and a fresh perspective on one of the world’s most dynamic cities.
So, hop on the saddle, follow the stories, and let Tokyo surprise you.
